This week we have some big news as we run into Easter. Every year we participate in the prestigious Smithfield Awards - a competition entered by the best butchers in the UK. This year we are all over the moon to be told we have won 4 gold medals. The awards were for:

 BOEUF BOURGUIGNON PIE SUGAR PIT CURED BACON CHOPS
FIVE SPICE PORK RIBS NEW PRODUCT

On the 19th April we have been invited to the awards lunch at Butchers Hall. A huge well done to the Lidgates team!

 

Also this week, our website photographer Charlie Bard (https://imakeyouhungry.com/) has been shortlisted for Food Photographer of the Year 2023 for a photo he took of our Lamb. Let’s hope he wins.

 

This week our New Season Lamb arrived. It looks absolutely magical, a great lamb farmed by Justin Riggs of Mill Farm in Stanford in the Vale in Oxfordshire. If your planning to cook leg of Lamb at Easter it is probably a good idea ordering either online or over the phone with one of our fantastic ladies.

Quite often we do sell out on the Saturday of Easter as LEG OF LAMB is the traditional Easter dish. Thankfully the weather looks to be picking up and we will see some glorious sunshine next weekend.
