Where: 44 Atlantic Road, SW9 8JN

This community-based, friendly new dining spot has recently opened inside Market Row. With its lively atmosphere, affordable prices and excellent food, it has quickly found its home in Brixton. Originally launched as a Caribbean cooking club, it became so popular that founders Malika Green and Paschelle Brown decided to find it a permanent home. They have kept the menu deliberately small and manageable, focusing on the dishes that have made them so popular over the past three years.

The menu features a creative fusion of Caribbean, British, European and Southern American influences. Standout dishes include the Sweet Tea and Herb-Brined Chicken Wings, the Charcoal Shrimp in Creole Trinity Butter Sauce, and the Baked Mac.

For a main course, the Lamb Ribs are an excellent choice, served with a rich pomegranate BBQ glaze. We recommend pairing them with the lightly spicy Baked Cauliflower, served with butterbean whip, grape chimichurri and crispy chilli. To finish, the Sorrel Cheesecake is a house speciality, offering a sweet and tangy finish to the meal.
