The best meal you will have is not just dependent on the food, but the people you share it with, says famed chef Marco Pierre White. This new summer opening encapsulates that idea to its fullest. Started by two sisters and their mum, this restaurant tries to bring the cosiness of dinner into the dining room to this new Clapham restaurant. The head chef might also be a familiar face, as Nikita Pathakji gained fame from their victory on MasterChef: The Professionals, not long ago. You can now head over to Clapham and decide if she’s deserving of the title.
Now for the food. To start with, we'd suggest the more adventurous among you go for the Japanese-inspired Cuttlefish 'Tako Yaki' Doughnut. Others may prefer the Chaat Tartlet, which is a plainer starter to open your meal. The Crispy Beef Croquettes are also a solid option and, like the others, extremely well priced.
For mains, the Lamb Laab Tartare with shiso, Thai basil, mint and rice crackers is a signature dish. A succulent, tender course plated in a delicate fashion. And if you're really hungry, the Roasted Halibut, served in a Malay Fish Head Curry, is perfect if you're looking for a fishy feast.
While the sun is out, Maai has a lovely terrace to enjoy one or more of their signature cocktails. The House Martini, Salted Melon Daiquiri and Elderflower Margarita are all nice boozy drinks which should still keep you refreshed.

The Masala Chips are very popular – a huge vat of chunky chips smothered in grated cheese, jalapeños, Ottoman Sauce and Funky Spices.
