Mitsu
When: Opened 6th April
Where: 10 Willow Street, EC2A 4BH
Book: https://mitsurestaurant.com/about
Mitsu is a new Japanese restaurant bringing together classic Japanese dishes from the heart of Tokyo with the more party driven Shoreditch scene in London. It’s the perfect place for some after work dinner and drinks. The space has a luxury late night bar vibe, so it settles nicely into the Shoreditch scene. Attached to the main restauarant, is an interactive Karaoke room, with a Bacardi vending machine where you can keep the party going! You’re welcome to have your food there or just head there, after your meal in the main dining room.
Speaking of the food, here are a few different dishes you might want to try. With the smaller dishes that you might share, you could go for their chicken meatball skewers, the Pork Chashu or Negi with charred leek. There is also, The Wagyu Sando, which is a lovely selection of sandwiches In Japanese Shokupan (milk bread).
Their Sushi, unsurprisingly, is also very nice, with the appealing classics like the Ibushi Salmon Maki, Yasai Kakiage Maki, (mixed vegetable tempura and Shiso), and Toro Takun Maki (Tuna Belly, Pickled Daikon) all available. The Tenderstem Broccoli with chilli is also a nice side dish to give your meal a bit of a heat.

Mriya’s Closing Night
Normally, we like to highlight openings or temporary pop ups. However, this time we are looking at this beloved bistro closing its doors on June the 6th. So, before it does, we suggest tasting their authentic Ukrainian dishes. The Ukrainian Borsch with Beef Ribs, Pampushkas and Salo is a nice lighter starter. Then I’d suggest the Potato Vareyky with Pork Cracklings and Sour Cream for a nicely balanced buttery and salty main course. Finally, I’d play it with safe, with the sweet and tasty Honey Cake for dessert. If you want to see what else Mriya has to offer before they shut their doors, click here.
Ruby Hour at Langan’s Brasserie
This extravagant and Luxurious Mayfair bar is launching Ruby Hour, this week, in its Upstairs bar area. Now from Tuesday to Saturday, between 5 and 8 you can head to Langan’s to try a collection of their new signature cocktails. With a sudden heatwave taking over London, it’s the perfect time to head to their open terrace, enjoy the live music and maybe peruse their selection of curated cigars. If interested, you can book here.
Get It Before It’s Gone – Aaron Potter x Naughty Piglets
Chef Aaron Potter and his team have taken over the Kitchen in Naughty Piglets and there’s only two weeks left to see what they have on offer. His menu is inspired by the restaurants and Wine bars of the Mediterranean. Their signature dishes include Wild Garlic Moules Farci and Grilled Sweetbreads with Tzatziki and Cuttlefish Rice to name just a few. If this sounds like something you want might want to catch, head down to Naughty Piglets at 28 Brixton Water Lane in South London and get it before it’s gone!
