OUDH 1722
When: Opened May 1st, 2026
Where: 66 Union Street, SE1 1TD
Book: https://www.oudh1722.com
Two-time Michelin-star-winning chef Aktar Islam has just opened a restaurant celebrating Awadhi cuisine. He is giving a fresh new twist to ancient cooking traditions. They view their food as an art form and their dishes are beautiful artistic achievements as well as being very tasty. Food is so much more at Oudh 1722.
They are undoubtedly successful in their artistic efforts, with their poppadom selection cleverly assembled into a tower. The seasonal Mushroom Kebab is also a good vegetarian option to share at the start of your meal.
For mains, their Mutanjan Dum Biryani with oxtail, aged basmati rice, and sweet carrot has received a lot of praise and is considered their signature dish. However, their Gulnaar Tandoori Chicken, served with smoked tomato and cream, is a more approachable main that is equally delicious. If you're feeling adventurous, why not try the Lamb Bheja (lamb brains) or the King Prawn with raw mango and garlic? Both are excellent dishes, whether shared or kept all to yourself.
For drinks, Oudh feels like a great place to try some new cocktails. We'd suggest the Mango Chutney Margarita or a brandy-based Old Fashioned with stone fruit.
Oudh has certainly announced itself as a unique restaurant and an excellent addition to London's dining scene.

Taste of London
We’ve highlighted many different food festivals taking place this summer, but of them all, Taste of London is the biggest and best. From 17th to 21st June, head over to Regent’s Park and see what’s on offer. With 36 restaurants, 50 chefs, and 150 artisan producers in attendance, there will be plenty to try. There are also a range of activities to enjoy, including the British Airways Holidays Cook School, the BBQ School, and the Taste Fire Pit. Whether you're a foodie or simply looking for something fun to do with the family, this event is well worth a visit. Tickets can be booked here.
Get It before It’s Gone – “Leo” at Renegade Winery
Chef Richard Eversden is launching a limited-run residency at Renegade, titled Leo. Richard runs one of the country's leading catering companies and has served as head chef at several renowned London restaurants. His goal at Renegade is to create dishes inspired by British and European cuisine. Designed to be enjoyed alongside a good glass of wine, the menu also incorporates a generous touch of spice. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, head there soon, as he won’t be there long.
Yumtea
In Holborn and Canary Wharf's Canada Square, you'll find the cosy café Yumtea, which specialises in Japanese-style pastries, cakes, and matcha. If you fancy visiting one of their locations, here are a few standout menu items worth trying.
Their light and fluffy Vanilla Strawberry Cheesecake is a beautifully crafted crowd-pleaser. The Strawberry Fairy Cake is an extravagant treat, adorned with intricate decorations, while the Basque Gluten-Free Cheesecake is perfect for a special occasion.
If you can't make it to one of their cafés, you can order online here.
