Eel Sushi Bar
When: Opened 6 May 2025
Where: 118 Talbot Road, W11 1JR
BOOK: https://eelsushi.com/
A casual and speedy sushi bar in Notting Hill has become one of the most talked about new restaurants, and for good reason. With stellar reviews from The Standard, The Nudge, and The Infatuation, amongst others, this laid-back spot comes from the people behind Dorian and Tuna Fight Club. In general, New York-style sushi bars have skyrocketed in popularity, with the temaki bar Ukiyo similarly going viral last year. Eel Sushi Bar’s concise menu offers a range of high-quality sashimi and nigiri (and caviar if you’re feeling fancy), and the chefs are able to offer advice on the perfect platter. The beautifully arranged dishes are undoubtedly Insta-worthy and the wine list is said to be very, very good indeed.
Currently, the restaurant sees a near-constant stream of people, and with just 12 seats in the restaurant, prepare yourself for potential queuing as a walk-in. Top tip: reviewers recommend swinging by, putting your name on the waitlist, and enjoying a drink at Dorian, The Pelican, or The Walmer Castle whilst you wait for your table to be ready.

New Menu From One Of London’s Best Pizzerias
To celebrate their 15th birthday, Santa Maria (famed for their Neapolitan creations) have released an all-new menu. Crave Magazine describe the spot as being ‘synonymous with quality, passion, and pizza made the proper Neapolitan way,’ with the latest menu offering ‘modern creativity’ and ‘classic comfort’. With six branches around the city, a delicious and authentically Italian pizza can’t be far away… Teaming up with Bro Pizzeria in Naples, the menu includes the new and limited-edition ‘San Ciro’ which sounds outrageously delicious – smoked mozzarella, pepperoni, a spicy pineapple reduction, black lime dust, parmesan crisps, and chilli flakes. Featuring on Secret London’s list of ‘Genuinely Fab Things To Do’ in June, pizza lovers take note.
