Labombe by Trivet
When: September 17th, 2025
Where: COMO Metropolitan - Mayfair

Both the restaurant and wine bar, Labombe by Trivet, has opened to rave reviews at COMO Metropolitan London, Mayfair. The strict, pulsating militarism of many restaurants, as seen on TV and in film recently, is an energy that Labombe is keen to avoid. Brilliant wines with a relaxed energy are their key to success. This is definitely not just a replica of their two Michelin star, restaurant called Trivet, in London Bridge, it is something genuinely new and more relaxed.

Signature dishes include their Salt and Vinegar Almonds, fresh wild mushrooms with handmade pici noodles, a simplistic yet excellent breaded veal, and the Grilled Monkfish and Coco Beans, which is served in a gorgeous, vinegared chicken sauce. The food does not disappoint.

Their wine list really sets them apart, and as we run into the colder winter months, there is no better time to try the list curated by Bal, one of the world’s most respected sommeliers. We suggest getting some charcuterie and pairing it with a nice Italian red to match the gourmet salami on offer. The Rogana is the most natural pairing, a gorgeous fruity and flowery Barolo. The Florent Thinion is more affordable choice and is a peppery French red with a hint of spices on the nose and very versatile. If you are unsure about what to drink, the staff are more than happy to help.

Tod’s Festive Feast – Outernet London

From viral foodie posts on social media to now spearheading London’s newest foodie Christmas market, Tod’s Festive Feast has recently opened up in the middle of London. This viral sensation has focused on interesting food stalls where you can try cinnamon doughnuts with cream, crème brûlées, churro stands, burgers, and much more. If you’re a foodie and looking for something a little different this winter, this might be the market for you. Find it at Tottenham Court Road Station.

The Gingerbread city

You might be able to guess what this festive event is. In Coal Drops Yard you can find an entire city, created by architects, made entirely out of gingerbread. Have a wander and marvel at this magical and expertly designed sugary metropolis. They also offer gingerbread house–making workshops, where you can have a stab at creating your own edible city. Tickets can be found here.

Get it before it’s Gone – Tasca at Giacco’s

This week’s exciting pop-up brings Portuguese and Spanish dining to Islington. Set up by Chef Josh Dalloway and Sommelier Sinead Murdoch, their signature dishes on offer are fried almonds with honey, Rojão sandwiches (which include pork, garlic, paprika and bay leaves), and their iconic schnitzel sandwich. Finally, the wines are mostly taken from sustainable vineyards that use fewer pesticides, so if you end up drinking here, those hangovers might be a little easier. Reservations Link
