Danny's Days - 9th June 2025

These last few weeks have been a busy time for me. Partly because I’ve been quite hands on recently. We had a few staff holidays and I stepped in at certain times to help in various roles. One of my favourite things to do, strangely, is organising and cleaning our big meat fridges as well as tidying up the minus 21 degrees walk in freezer - which my brother Ben and I tackled last week. It was like one of those team building exercises you see on TV sometimes.  

Last week I also had a productive meeting representing the Holland Park Shops with our local Police Force/ We were also joined by MP Joe Powell and local RBKC councillor Stephanie Petit. The goal of the meeting was to try and reduce the shoplifting and criminal behaviour retailers have been experiencing recently. There are some measures coming place very shortly.

1. Met Engage App, for residents and retailers to communicate live information. It will be localised to Wards and you should only receive info relevant to your area.
2. Forensic DNA Protection Kits for retailers (who can mark high value goods) and residents to mark items in their homes. The local police will be contacting resident’s road by road once this comes into force and I’m sure shops will have signs in their windows soon. It’s cutting-edge way of protecting property by each kit has thousands of tiny microdots that act as a code to identify you r property to you.

Alongside that I have been leafleting our leaflets for the fight against TfL outside Holland Park Station and communicating weekly with Heads of Resident Associations how best to keep our fight going.
