Danny's Days - 24th February 2025

This week has been a little quieter with many customers travelling away. Skiing holidays are very popular - family members have sent me videos of them flying down the slopes at eye watering speeds!

Back at Lidgates HQ we’re preparing for some meetings with some Holland Park Traders, local councillors and local Police representatives to discuss the increasing problem of local theft and shoplifting. This is a problem which is on the rise locally and nationally and some of the video evidence is pretty shocking. Shopkeepers and key management staff have faced intimidation and hugely worrying conditions that hopefully we will be able to find some solutions to mitigate and resolve these issues in the short-term future. It is just another layer of small independent business issues that are being faced currently.

This coming week, we have a special occasion on Wednesday as a few of us will be attending the prestigious Smithfield Awards, one of the industry’s historic  - and toughest - competitions, where we will be battling some of our products against brilliant butchers from around the country. Hopefully we leave with some silverware, wish us luck.
