Danny's Days - 11th November 2024

Last week we really felt things at the shop notch up a couple of gears. Our incredible desk team work considerably longer hours and are in the shop every day in November. The phones are busier and there is an upbeat atmosphere in the shop. Christmas really brings a community spirit to Holland Park Avenue.

Our chocolatey neighbours MELT have supplied us with their Notting Hill Advent Calendar - featuring Lidgates on the interior packaging. There are some superb wines and champagne in Jeroboams and Nicholas, some vibrant display in Ben’s the grocer,

a glorious display of new books in Daunts, a busy and stylish atmosphere in Scissors Palace and a joyous and celebratory mood in our restaurants and bars, such as Vori, 6 Portland Street and The Castle. I think I can speak on behalf of all these businesses when I say we are extremely grateful for the business we receive at this time of the year. It is a tough time for small independent businesses and to keep going we need to grasp these opportunities with both hands.
