Ortiz Sardines in Olive Oil

PLEASE NOTE: Our tinned fish supplier has sent us the following information. A new EU Catch System was implemented on January 10th for fish suppliers to request a catch certificate for export through an online platform. However, the platform is not yet functional, and vessels and fishermen's associations are not yet showing as registered. Hence, Ortiz and our other wonderful tinned fish suppliers are currently unable to fulfil the necessary documentation required for export. Ortiz have escalated this with the Spanish authority and are waiting for a response.

Ortiz source their sardines at auction houses (lonjas) on the north coast of Spain.

They are prepared using traditional methods and carefully hand-packed, one by one.

The sardines are packed in olive oil, rich in oleic acid, which helps regulate harmful levels of cholesterol in the blood.
