Kinz – Notting Hill

When: Opened 1st June

Where: 50 Notting Hill Gate, W11 3JD

Book: https://kinzrestaurant.com

The stunning interior of this new restaurant is the first thing that draws you in. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to the sun-soaked coastal towns of the Mediterranean. Before you've even tasted the food, KINZ makes you want to take a seat at the bar and work your way through a few Aperol Spritzes.

That's not to say the chefs at KINZ aren't cooking up something special. This all-day Lebanese brasserie excels at table-sharing dishes, with plenty of standout options. Their Samke Harra (cod fillets served with a chopped walnut and tahini sauce), Lamb Sfeeha (open-topped pastries filled with minced lamb, pine nuts, tomato, and onion), and Moutabal (smoky chargrilled aubergine purée with tahini) are all excellent choices.

For a heartier main course, the Kibbeh Bi Sayniyeh is highly recommended. This traditional dish features a mixture of minced lamb and beef in bulgur patties, stuffed with onion and pine nuts, and served with cucumber yoghurt and mint on the side. If you're looking for something lighter, you can't go wrong with the Fattoush salad, made with sumac, onion, and toasted pitta crisps.

And if you decide against the Aperol Spritz, the wine list offers plenty of excellent choices, particularly well suited to the summer months.

Oktoberfest Kabaret Bottomless Brünchen

Whilst it is still a long way from October, summer in London is the perfect time for a beer. This underground Kabaret Oktoberfest event, taking place this weekend, is a great way to enjoy a fun afternoon and you can perhaps even watch the football there. There will be live music, unlimited drinks, tasty pastries, and granola all included in the £40 ticket. It's a great choice for a summer lunchtime adventure with friends. To get tickets click here.

Get It Before It’s Gone – Applebees Fish x Tom Cenci

For the whole summer, Chef Tom Cenci returns to the kitchen at Applebee's Seafood in Borough Market. Chef Cenci has created a menu centred around locally sourced seafood brought into the market each day. Signature dishes include the impressive Fruits de Mer platter, which features a whole native lobster, cock crab claws, king prawns, Maldon rock oysters, and much more. The Halibut & Caviar Slider is a great seafood take on the classic American burger and is another excellent choice. As it's proving very popular, it's worth reserving a table soon. Book here

Catford Community Food Festival

We love highlighting the wonderful food festivals that keep us busy—and rather full—throughout the summer months. The Catford Food Festival sets itself apart through its strong connection to its Lewisham roots and its ability to support and bring the local community together while showcasing a fantastic range of food. This family-oriented festival features offerings from traditional local pubs, popular burger spots, and several well-known sushi and ramen restaurants. Alongside the food, there will be live music, a pop-up small-sided basketball court, and circus school workshops, all helping to make this a truly memorable day out. Details here
