Saltwater Sushi’s new Soho opening brings together the speed of grab-and-go with the care and technique of a high-end restaurant. The team behind it also knows the neighbourhood well, having previously opened the popular Australian restaurant Milk Beach.

The hand rolls are the signature, with combinations including Bluefin Tuna, Shiso & Yuzu Kosho Smashed Avocado; Maple Aubergine, Broccolini & Tamari-Roasted Pumpkin Seeds; and Salmon & Avocado with Yuzu Mayo. The nigiri is worth exploring too, particularly the Roasted Peppers with Fermented Chilli Kewpie and Crispy Shallots. For something more substantial, try the Ultimate Katsu Curry or Roasted Sesame Miso Chicken.

If you’re in Soho, Saltwater is a smart choice for sushi that’s quick, affordable and carefully made.

Sandwich Sandwich x Marco Pierre White

We’ve written about Bristol-born sandwich shop Sandwich Sandwich before, and its London presence keeps growing. This time, the chain has teamed up with Marco Pierre White for three limited-edition sandwiches.

The collaboration includes Cumbrian Smoked Chicken Caesar, Hot-Smoked Scottish Salmon and Crispy Confit Duck Bun, all built around classic British ingredients. There’s plenty more on the regular menu too. Find more details at Sandwich Sandwich.

Drink Japan

Where: Lindley Hall, Vincent Square

Drink Japan is taking over Lindley Hall this weekend with more than 100 food and drink choices to taste. Alongside sake, shochu, awamori, whisky, wine, beer, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, there will be live performances from opera singers Takumi Torio and Nozomi Fukushima, plus Taiko drummers.
