MRBL – Steak and Wine
When: Opened 3rd March
Where: 23-25 Leadenhall Market, London EC3V 1LR
Book: https://www.mrbl.co.uk/
A new steak and wine restaurant has launched near the iconic Leadenhall Market. MRBL embraces the importance of British farming, with their steaks sourced from carefully selected native breeds such as English Longhorn, Hereford, and Aberdeen Angus cattle, all grass-fed and reared on farms in Yorkshire and Norfolk. All their beef is dry-aged for a minimum of 35 days and cooked over charcoal.
To start, the Smoked Aubergine with pickled mushrooms or the Charcoal Grilled Prawns with fermented chilli are great options, offering lighter ways to begin your meal.
For mains, the tasty cuts you might want to try including the grass-fed skirt steak with fries—a meal full of flavour, lean and juicy, best served medium rare. The MRBL Steak Sandwich is a signature dish, made with slow-braised rump of beef, smoked cheese, Guinness onions, and mustard mayo.
They also specialise in a good Sunday roast. The 35-day aged roast Hereford sirloin or the slow-roast large white pork belly are solid options. I’d suggest a few sides to share, such as their crispy roast potatoes or the normally Christmas speciality, pigs in blankets.
OOM Supper Club at Project Loop
All day Saturday, at the Project Loop Gallery, on the canal, a special Supper club is taking place. Whilst being able to enjoy their current exhibition with works from contemporary artist Aliou Diack, you will be served various canapes, then mains and desert for this one-of-a-kind Supper Club experience. Socialise with other foodie and art enthusiasts and enjoy an alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktail along with it. If this special event might be of interest, tickets can be booked here.
