Osteria Vibrato

When: Opened 14th February

Where: 6 Greek St, London, W1D 4DE

Book: https://osteriavibrato.co.uk/

It can be difficult to stand out amongst the plethora of Italian restaurants that are dotted around London. But this stylish new date spot, with a fantastically tailored wine list, stands out as one of the best. This new venture from Charlie: Osteria Vibrato, is his second restaurant following the success of the ‘The Laughing Heart’.

When you enter Osteria, the stripped-back aesthetic with wooden booths and the occasional bit of colour from the featured paintings on the walls, mean you could be forgiven for thinking that you had just wandered into a friendly Italian restaurant in the back alleys of Rome. Their food, like many other foodie hotspots, is simple yet brilliant. The white risotto with 30-month Parmigiano Reggiano looks and tastes like a special family recipe your relatives have cooked up. The Seafood Fritto Misto is also a great option, along with the more robust Salt Cod with Potatoes.

For mains, I would suggest the Sweet Pumpkin stuffed with rice and chestnuts or the succulent Veal alla Castellana with fontina and prosciutto. With your main, I would also suggest pairing it with one of their excellent wines. Their list only uses organic wine from France and Italy, so not only are there no pesticides used in the vines, but they should also not leave you with a thudding headache. I’d go for a full-bodied, high-acidity red such as the Orsi San Vito from Emilia-Romagna or a more medium-bodied white such as their Nicolas Reau from the Loire.

Easter in Chelsea – King’s Road

Jump right into the Easter festivities this weekend at Duke of York Square, where there will be a special edition of the weekly food market. Chocolatey snacks, special Easter cookies and cake galore await you from the third to the sixth of April. Savoury stalls will be out in full force as well, providing a savoury main course if the sweet snacks get too much for you. Bring along the whole family as well, as there are plenty of activities to keep your kids busy! Arts and crafts tables and an in-person visit from the Easter Bunny himself will mean there is something in this day out for everyone.

Run to Wine X Unwined Wine Tasting

If you don’t end up going to Osteria Vibrato for a glass of wine this week, why not try Run to Wine and Unwind. You start with a 5K run along the Thames and finish with tasting 5 different wines and eating away at a cheese and charcuterie board. The run is there for jogging enthusiasts to enjoy and to remove a sense of guilt from wine drinkers who would like to have a few at 6PM on a Tuesday. So why not bring some friends or go alone at one of London’s more unique wine tasting experiences. If interested, tickets can be booked here.

Listo Burrito – Manchester, Oxford Street

National Burrito Day falls on the first Thursday of the month. While this is far from a celebrated holiday in the UK, it gives us an excuse to uncover the best burrito spots in the UK. So, if you weren’t aware already, let me introduce you to Listo Burrito. Having risen to popularity on Oxford Street, Manchester, they have now opened a new spot in Liverpool. If you come across this Mexican-themed spot, I’d go for their Smoky BBQ Pork Burrito, which uses pork shoulder braised long and slow and is delicately pulled and seasoned. Their slow-cooked beef brisket is also a great option, a more tender and lean meat which melts perfectly in your mouth. With a litany of home-made options, it is well worth a visit
